Accessibility Statement

Last updated: November 6, 2026

Soothing Sounds for Sleep wants everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to enjoy soothingsoundsforsleep.com. We are working to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

What we are doing

  • Using high-contrast text on our dark design so words and links are easy to read
  • Supporting keyboard navigation, including a “Skip to main content” link, a keyboard-operable menu and visible focus outlines
  • Giving every video player a descriptive title and every play button a clear label for screen readers
  • Adding text descriptions (alt text) to meaningful images
  • Using clear headings and letting screen reader users know when a link opens a new tab
  • Allowing pages to be zoomed and resized on phones and tablets
  • Reducing animation and hover effects for visitors who turn on “reduce motion” in their device settings
  • Reviewing new pages and videos as we add them

About our audio content

Most of our videos are continuous ambient sounds, such as rain, purring or white noise, with no speech, and many play on a black screen on purpose. Each video’s title and description explain the sound you will hear, so the content is understandable without seeing the video. ASMR videos that include speech may have captions available through YouTube’s player.

Known limitations

Video players are provided by YouTube, and we do not control their accessibility. Some older imported video posts may not yet meet every guideline, and we are improving them over time.
